Hey Prod, I purchased a set of Focals for the car I was donig and I was a bit dissappointed in them for about $500 I'm sure I could have got a better sound. I have always been a cheap sound guy meaning I never have the money to blow even a grand on a system, I usually throw one together for about $500 to $600 and sometimes use used stuff, but it all seems to come together nicely. Now I've been told many times that I am tone def but it sounded good to me. I have always liked Alpine, so use what you can get at the right price and you can always tweak it later if something needs to be changed.

get some rear door speakers that have a decent amount of woofer and bass response to them. They don't have to be huge, just able to handle what you want.

Here is what I am running in mine. The two ways (silver ones) are in the rear and designed to handle more bass. Since I have subs in my car I just use them to fill in the middle area and not for the dep lows. However I have heard them thump and they can handle the bass if need be. The three ways are in front and the tweeters are removable and can be used seperate. I actually placed one tweeter in the factory tweeter location and left the other in the door. Used the supplied crossover and adjusted accordingly. They won't/aren't designed to handle as much bass as the others though. I think they ran somewhere between 100 and 150 a set.

No offense my friend, your system is sweet, But I think, Halfpanel and others are looking to upgrade alot cheaper. Just alittle more something..you know? $600 on door speakers may be a little much. I think thay are asking for advice on some mild tuning...Could be wrong, I often am! Todd (Uma)

Todd, you would be right. I am looking for probably a cheap upgrade. UNLESS it is honestly worth spendin 5-600 on door speakers. I just want better speakers that when i turn them up, they still sound clear and something with a little more bass. Im not worried about a subwoofer, just better performance out of the doors.. all advice is welcome! and the speakers u showed up there look nice. dunno if thats what i need , maybe so?! who knows. lol

my opinion?!! You should not spend that kind of $$ unless you are building a serious system, cause then you need bass, amps, etc, etc. Stick with the plan brother, work on rims, under the hood, it tis up to you. Keep in your budget...go slow, one thing at a time. Todd (Uma)
