I've had a Mio 320 for a few years, great little device. It's possible to 'hack' them and get them to run other software like TomTom. For the price, you can't beat it IMHO.

I am wondering why remove the OnStar... when you go to sell it someday wouldn t the car be worth more... the new owner would only have to subscribe and wouldn t have to worry about installation... or did you just have the antenna removed?

anyway... because of my eyesight the map display helps me keep in the process while Joan is driving and keeps me aware of the surrounding area.

You mounted the disc on the front verticle side of the compartment?

Not on the bottom?

I'm looking for a good place in there but had no idea. Do you have a picture?

We have the Garmin C330 SP. Paid big bucks for it way back when...

We have our GPS mounted to the suction cup on the disk, which has
had velcro hook placed on it. Then we have velcro pile in the bottom
back, on the passenger side of the dash compartment.

We drive with the door open and we can both use the nav unit.

I also have several POI (Points of Interest) files available for download at

www.POI-factory.com.

You will need to register, but it is free.

If ya get a chance you should check out the poi factory...

Way cool!!!

I got the Pioneer D3 with Bluetooth. A good one to get is just about any Garmin or one of the Dash units. I like the idea of the Dash cause of community involment. For those of you who don't know. The Dash has this thing I call smart route. If you find a better way around traffic you can upload the route to the community database. This way other commuters can have there GPS follow your course to the same destination. It also has the same traffic updates as any other subscription gps.

I just bought a Garmin C580 to replace a Nuvi 200 that I either lost or was stolen...to this day I have no idea.....I realize that the C580 is a step back in time but for all the bells and whistles compared to the even newer 205 series it was a no brainer...

The C580 after 2 day shipping was 170 dollars from Amazon....a year ago I think it was going for around 400 dollars.....BlueTooth, Text to Speech, MSN direct Free for a year......I also own a C320 which has been rock solid....

It helped me make my choice as I think the only thing the Nuvi 200 had going for it was it's size ...other than that the C320 beat it hands down...seemed more accurate and has a LOT more detail than the Nuvi especially with cross streets etc...sometimes newer is not always better...also you receive the latest maps (2009)

I still have the beanbag mount from the Nuvi and that will fit the C580

I'm pretty psyched about getting it...not sure why but am

Magellan (The great explorer) Roadmate. I love it! Very basic, gets me where I need to be and was cheap! I don't need a navagation device to tell me how fast I'm going when I already have a speedo for that, nor do I need it to play Mp3's :) Just need my directions!
