Great price on your TomTom. I paid $299.00 last Nov. for the same one.
Fortunately, I was able to write it off on my business.

Magellan Maestro 3225. The best $150.00 I ever spent (from Costco).

is it just my streetpilot unit? or is there something wrong with the satellites? Sometimes takes up to 10 minutes to lock on.

Guessing....but something is probably wrong.

My Magellan Roadmate acquires almost instantly. 2-4 seconds.

My old Garmin takes about 2-3 minutes.

The Delorme software (2007) takes about 30 seconds.

My Garmin c550 takes about 6 to 12 seconds when I turn it on... And it's a cheap $149 CAD unit too. Sounds like something is wrong.

Being around tall buildings can block your signal. I've had my Garmin Nuvi, take a long time aquiring satellites around high rise buildings in Las vegas. Never tried in Downtown San Diego though

Not sure if the unit is going bad or what, happens intermittenly, even driving back from Palm Springs, in the country, constantly get "lost satellite receptioin" guess it's time to start looking for new model, sucks because i just updated the maps to 2009 and just renewed my FM Traffic
