SEMA is at the end of October!

Looks like it still quite a ways off...

Could be...but I'm in with Scoche not Metra, so I don't know what they're offering. This low-speed GM LAN Serial Data interface is going to be a ball-buster as it's new and has not been used (not this one), in other cars previously. That means big $$$ for development and testing. Those "little black boxes" with wires coming out don't come cheap!

Direct wiring...direct wiring...direct...

Onstar and other GM whizz-doo gizmo's. It runs all the chimes; doors, lights, keys in ignition, seat belts, etc. I cut mine cold turkey and never batted an eye. The car runs perfect, but I don't have OnStar...so I wouldn't advise it if you do.

I finally got a chance to run my 3 sets of RCA lines and signal wire. I did it along the passanger sill, mainly because I took my son to a baseball game and my car was parked with the passanger side against the curb. It was much simplier than I feared, with all of the body panals easily coming off.

Now if someone would just come up with an interface that will allow my OnStar to work with a new head unit...

The premium radio doesnt sound that bad at low volumes. It's just that when you are accustomed to a powerful system with plenty of highs, mids, and bass you can feel then anything else leaves you unsatisfied.
