xm feature in 06 hhr ls

my niece has a 06 hhr ls when you push the cat button XM feature comes up but we cannot get xm to work is the radio not xm ready?please help

The stereo is XM ready but XM is not standard equipment from the factory, so if the car did not come with XM it will not work.

Have you started a subscription w/ XM, and registered the unit?

Yeah, thats good if you want the XM stations to be controlled and shown by the radio, but its alot cheaper to just buy an aftermarket XM receiver that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Actually, if you have an indash unit and don't want to listen anywhere else, the cheapest way is to get the car activated.

We do have an xm2go which we use in all of our other cars, outside, and even walking. We love it!
