This is my first post but I've been trolling this site for about a year. I bought my 07 HHR about a year ago and not long after I got the shakes when braking. Since I work at O'reilly's I have access to ordering parts easily. I used to own a 2001 Grand Prix that used to warp rotors pretty easy like the HHR. The was an easy upgrade to buy the caliper brackets and rotors of the same year Monte Carlo and instant bigger rotors. So I got to searching the HHR SS without the brembos. That rotor is 11.65" compared to the stock 10.87" I believe. So I just ordered new caliper brackets, rotors, and just the normal pads. Test fitted evrything the other day and everything fit fine. Installed everything today and test drove with no issues. Even fits under the steel 16" wheels. Stops better now too. I still need to adjust the rear brakes but I was too hot and tired. Hopefully this will help keep them from warping again.

I can tell you from experience, the SS rotors(non brembo) stops better. mine are still warped though

These are all oreilly part numbers. The pads you use the normal 1160 pads. The only difference on the 1160 vs the 1028 pads are the 1028 are slightly thicker pad. The rotor part number is 580184RGS. The caliper bracket numbers are 14-1171 and 14-1172. You can reuse all the hardware or replace. They are all the same. The only difference between the calipers is the SS versions have a 25 mm bore vs a 24 mm bore. But all these can be looked up under a 2008 HHR SS with JL9 brake package. I can't give you a retail price because thats not what I paid since I get a nice discount. I just hope this helps them from warping so easy.

Can you reuse your calipers off say a lt?

Mine is a ls and I just reused the calipers. The only difference is the bore size on them. Other than that they are identical.

And on the 'flip' side of this 'coin', you can do the opposite, on an SS..
For those needing lighter weight , or more rotor clearance.

My 15" Enkei RPF1s need even more 'rotor' clearance, than most any other
15" wheels.
Also if you don't want to 'grind' your stock SS calipers for a 'normal', 15" wheel clearance, use the HHR LS/LT calipers.

So, I'm using the smaller HHR LS/LT calipers. Great deal on Amazon...

The stock HHR LS/LT 276mm rotor is too heavy, a 280mm Cobalt rotor is 2lbs lighter, & is a good replacement LS/LT rotor.

Put on some 'thin' 9.5lb Solstice rotors, with modified pads...
