A couple of things, with 96,508 miles on my 08, I am back on my original original rotors after a 25k mile experiment with EBC slotted ones(over rated IMHO). I change my own pads about every 25K miles and I use Bendix pads(ceramic and metallic pads are rough on rotors). I would rather change out pads than have my rotors turned. If your driving habits are not extreme, this might work for you as well. Also most brake rotors get warped during installation. Air guns are fine for removing lug nuts, but a torque wrench is the only way to replace them.

Check out this thread, it shows the part numbers of the parts I used for the upgrade.

The brake pad hardware that the pad sits in was touching the rotor and it sounded just like a wear sensor, light squeak. The rotor was also lightly touching the caliper mounting bracket. It was worse on the passenger side than the driver side, just a light touch. I was thinking that an easy way to do that is to put another rotor dust shield on between the hub bearing and the knuckle. The shield is .060"thick and I will trim off the bracket were it is bigger than the hub. I checked the GM parts book and the shields are $7.30 each. The brake hardware is stainless and was rubbing a groove into my rotor. Modifying the 2nd set of brake shields seems to be the easiest way I can think of to space the rotor out .060". I am going to call my buddy at the dealer Monday and have him find me some shields.
Mine were close when I did the updgrade, but they were not touching. Probably just the difference in manufacturing.

I tried the EBC red w/ slotted rotors. worked great fro 18 ,000. the rotors are good , the inside pads cracked and delaminated. I'm not impressed, I had a new set of green pads, put them in...we will see. The oem pads lasted 30.00 but the OE rotors did warp.
