Anyone got pics of this lowering kit with stocker polished wheels and stock tire size ?

 

Here is a picture (sorry about quality) of the Eibach kit with the factory LS wheels and tires. It might even be a hair lower now than in this picture, because this pic was taken about 5 minutes after kit was installed. At least you can get an idea of the wheel well height. The overall diameter difference between the 215/55/16 (25.31") and the 215/50/17 (25.46") is really minimal so the only difference is the stocker hub caps vs. the polished wheels. those springs must not bottom out like goldlines do, i trimmed more fender than you did and with a full tank of gas i still rub from time to time

 

Which ones do you all think i shoud go with, i want to get some 18s by 7.5 on my HHR and not sure what drop kit is best for me? I like the goldlines, but i havent seen an HHR in person with them on.

 

FIRST- GET an HHR!
Second- completely fill the gas tank
Third- load up the vehicle (with people, weights, stereo equipment, etc...)
Then drive down the bumpiest road you'd *typcially* ever drive on
... then ...
consider how many passengers (on average) you'll end-up carting around on average THEN (AND ONLY THEN)
consider your CURRENT (OEM) wheel size/set-up. Who knows? You might lower it and like the way it looks on the stock (16 or 17) set-up.

Don't forget ... rubbing is mainly all about offset. Properly sized 18's 'might' not rub AT ALL - even on a lowered vehicle (just because it's a 7.5 rim doesnt mean it'll have an OEM offset). Plus- you of all people should know that Goldline's are the lowest- which may, or may not- give you the most headache. Most other manuf's offer about the same drop- nothing significantly noticable to the naked eye, although a marked difference over stock!

You need to figure out/consider ALL of the above *before* you do anything!!!! This choice is yours... based on your needs. If you like posing- get 18's, a grinder, and goldlines - "POSER HEAVEN"!!!

No problem, - it just seems Gold-Lines are getting a reputation for being "the lowest" - but the drop is just 1.75 front and 2.1 rear. Many people have seem them on my personal HHR with side pipes (which make the car appear 2-inches lower!). We have sold many sets of Gold-Lines and not had a single owner complain their car was lowered "too much." And the ride quality is really fantastic for a lowered vehicle.

It just seems a few people want others to think they might drop you too much. Not the case at all.

Proper offset is very important on the HHR (or any FWD vehicle), so it's important to choose your wheels wisely. Also, the stock HHR wheels are really only 6.5" wide (even though called "7's"). Right now, the only offsets available in our bolt pattern that fit (unless custom), are +42mm (on 17x7 rims) and +45mm (on 18x 7.5's). Anything less than that will surely net you some rubbing.
