New pads and maybe rotors if they are needing replaced (new ones certainly will be needed at some point) Napa top of the line gets good reviews. The back brakes on the LS/LT you need to keep doing a manual adjust as the "self" adjusters don't adjust...... No known reason, they just don't.

When adjusted properly with some better quality pads the brakes are good..... Rear disk would be nice... HHR SS or Cobalt SS axle and all can be swapped in...... It's been done. Not cheap and there's no "kit" other than a complete used setup.

Drove two today. Both grey 09 2LT 2.4 auto 42K miles and 10 LS 2.2 auto 37K miles.

I was impressed with the 2LT handling it did fill tighter. But for the price diff I didn't think it was worth it.

From a dead stop the 2.4 was trying to break loose and spin the 2.2 wouldn't do that.

Looking at them both side by side I like the LS better because it didn't have the chrome mirrors or handles, less miles and $1000 cheaper. But I ask about the price the manager told me "We are asking $12,988 and that is the lowest we will go". So told him no thanks that is more then I want to pay for it. I have seen many online that has the same miles and year for $10k if I am willing to drive 100 miles and for that big of a diff I will drive.

The 2.4L auto will definitely spin the tires..... You weren't trying hard enough.

Now about the price difference...... Granted $1000 is a big deal, but some mods you may want to add after you get an LS may just add up to some scratch too. Depends on what your plans are.

The road I was on was not the smooth black top. It was the real rough type with loose bits that hit your car as you drive. So it was not the best for spinning tires.

It does have nice options but as it will be a work car the year is more important. Work "rents" it from me for a set price each month. After the car is 9 years the rent prices drops to half. So the extra year makes a diff

The anit-roll bar doesn't sound bad. A quick google search shows they are about $180 and if I can put it on my self on a weekend that would be a good choice.

I have heard tires are a good choice. What do you guys suggest and what to stay away from?
