Oh for sure. This thread is specifically about the undersized brakes and warped rotors though. Suspension would be an entirely different conversation. I thought Oldblue was talking about that contributing to the warped rotors and hadn't heard of it. I think I'm just going to intall the SS components up front. It seems very reasonable in cost in comparison to replacing rotors every 35k with the way I torture it.

Ah, but I did install the upgrade larger diameter rotors and calipers brakets, but still had shake, just when I got off the throttle at highway speeds.
With the upper engine mount replaced that took care of it.
The other stuff had been over a period of 8 years and 428,000 klms. So a bit of seat time to figure these things out. With 48 years of driving (licensed), as many years and more working on , racing and building cars, I’ve got an attention to detail, OCD like traight.
It’s all been documented here on this forum.

It's good to have the extra info. I appreciate that. This problem is 100% rotors. Replace them and zing, shake over.

I retired a PT Cruiser. It had 315k miles on it. 3rd broken timing belt and rust made me decide to let it go. I don't think there were any parts I hadn't replaced or dealt with on it. It had a shake and it would pull a bit on decel when the engine mounts were ending life. Except the engine and trans. Original and never rebuilt. Also didn't leak or burn anything. Timing belts/components and normal fluid changes of course.

Again, the root cause is not likely the rotors, but the rear brake adjustment. You can't ask them to do 100% of the stopping, while the rears take a vacation, and then blame the front rotors for not performing. But you are certainly allowed to think that it is faulty rotors.

The rear shoes are in perfect adjustment and are working properly. In another post I explained in detail how they are adjusted up. This being a 5 spd car the rears are always adjusted up as I use the parking brake at every stop. The braking system is undersized and I don't hold back the brakes at times. I think it's a rotor problem because there is nothing else to blame. I couldn't make something wrong with it if I wanted to. They aren't faulty rotors either. They overheat and warp. It's a very simple process in which they become this way. No system is designed to handle abuse but none of my other vehicles seem to have this warping rotor issue. Not even a much older PT Cruiser.

I am by no means saying that this isn't an issue for many users but in my case it just doesn't apply.

So we shall enjoy the drive and address each problem separately as there are multiple sources of the shake.
