Chad, I'm not wishing to argue the rotor issue again, but you're missing my point.

IF SOME people experienced the problem with the OEM brakes and then changed to an aftermarket and still encountered the problem....something else appears to be causing the problem.

And I, as many others have stated, still have the OEM's and NEVER encountered the warp problem.

IF it is a "defect" in the rotor or pads, as some have suggested, why hasn't it occurred to ALL owners. Especially when the problem seems to occur over a large, and variable, production schedule .

My statement is in support of finding the CORRECT answer/solution to the problem (and that's recognizing that some owners have not had problems after installation of aftermarket parts).

Wow! I wasn't trying to argue, all I'm saying is that I had the vibration problems with my car, when I put the EBCs on it stopped. So there is no way that the problem was something else, with MY car.
Man people have been real snippy on here lately, i think I'm going to take a break from posting for a bit. sorry to get you all heated up buddy.

No, No, NO....

I'm not heated. I was just stating I don't want to restart this old arguement. I wasn't saying that YOU were arguing.

Sorry...should have explained better.

Oh and I will agree with the attitude lately. But my observations indicate as the holidays approach, attitudes get tight. It's just the nature of us Americans.

If by Holiday you mean "Election" Then I feel you are onto something. Everyone I know on both sides fear the worst. I hope we can get over it and pretend to be happy once more.....

Let's be less snippy as we enter the real holiday season-post election!

Oh, and the vibrations in my car enrage me more each time I drive it. I'd better get this straightened out since it makes me way beyond snippy!

I was going to bring it in again then my wife just scraped the front of our van up...it will come out to cost just about the deductible...I just had the same spots repaired from someone hitting it in a parking garage.... All this car stuff that never gets fixed is getting to me. One step forwards and two steps back, literally

No, I'm speaking of the real holidays...Thanksgiving, Xmas, New years. I'm ex-law enforcement, this attitude regarding "attitudes" goes way back.

This tuesday "event" is just another day that I wish would come and be gone. I'm so tired of the lies, embellishments from both sides. But I will admit, it is starting to scare me a little.

Really, there is an attitude that pervades the holidays? That's kinda scary too.
I though maybe forlorn sadness may be the flip side for some of us due to the passing of family and all that that rite of passage brings to the holidays.

But Tuesday will be gone soon enough. I hope it is clean, but figure on entrenched warfare from both sides due to the potential closeness and horrible voting mechanisms we have in place.

Should be an interesting time, but I do hope it is behind us soon.
Be well........

I was trained early to torque wheels on running up the tightness a bit at a time. Usually in three states, such as to 75 lbs, then 90 lbs then 100lbs. This avoids any problem with over tightening which can occur if you run down the lug nut to 100lbs first. The idea is maintain the pressure around the wheel evenly as you tighten the lug nuts. I have never had a warped rotor using this method. It does take a bit longer but not much. This is the same method used to install an engine head on the block, but there the increments are usually 5lbs or so.

That's a great idea. The other thing is I never let a shop use an impact gun on my wheels. There's just too great a chance of warping the rotors AND sometimes the drums.

Brakes are tricky. I like having someone else to blame with a bad installation, that's why I've only done them myself once. Of course, I've only had to do them twice. I was also taught ways of braking effectively and being mindful of the load and passengers in my vehicle so that I'm not putting too much force on the system.

Just a question for you folks with EBC rotors installed.

I have read there is a particular direction the vanes should be angled. I don't remember if it was toward the front or the rear. Maybe some else knows? Maybe Lee you put them on backwards? I don't know for sure but it is one more thing to check out.
