New rotors not rotoring
Chad, I'm not wishing to argue the rotor issue again, but you're missing my point.
IF SOME people experienced the problem with the OEM brakes and then changed to an aftermarket and still encountered the problem....something else appears to be causing the problem.
And I, as many others have stated, still have the OEM's and NEVER encountered the warp problem.
IF it is a "defect" in the rotor or pads, as some have suggested, why hasn't it occurred to ALL owners. Especially when the problem seems to occur over a large, and variable, production schedule

My statement is in support of finding the CORRECT answer/solution to the problem (and that's recognizing that some owners have not had problems after installation of aftermarket parts).

I though maybe forlorn sadness may be the flip side for some of us due to the passing of family and all that that rite of passage brings to the holidays.
But Tuesday will be gone soon enough. I hope it is clean, but figure on entrenched warfare from both sides due to the potential closeness and horrible voting mechanisms we have in place.
Should be an interesting time, but I do hope it is behind us soon.

I was trained early to torque wheels on running up the tightness a bit at a time. Usually in three states, such as to 75 lbs, then 90 lbs then 100lbs. This avoids any problem with over tightening which can occur if you run down the lug nut to 100lbs first. The idea is maintain the pressure around the wheel evenly as you tighten the lug nuts. I have never had a warped rotor using this method. It does take a bit longer but not much. This is the same method used to install an engine head on the block, but there the increments are usually 5lbs or so.

Brakes are tricky. I like having someone else to blame with a bad installation, that's why I've only done them myself once. Of course, I've only had to do them twice. I was also taught ways of braking effectively and being mindful of the load and passengers in my vehicle so that I'm not putting too much force on the system.
Just a question for you folks with EBC rotors installed.
I have read there is a particular direction the vanes should be angled. I don't remember if it was toward the front or the rear. Maybe some else knows? Maybe Lee you put them on backwards? I don't know for sure but it is one more thing to check out.
