Newbie with some suspension hints needed.

Was like Christmas when I got home from Dr just now. Springs are here, struts, shocks, hubs, speakers and few more various parts for the HHR.

rear springs and shocks are put on. damn glad i decided to do this! the rear spring on driver side was snapped, two bottom coils had busted and adjusted down. tomorrow is front suspension and hubs.

How were the insulators and bump stops? Have any trouble swapping them over from the old to new springs?

Only problem I really had was that spring that busted was stuck to bottom plastic piece. Only did rear today grunt tomorrow. Besides letting the plastic piece soak in oil so I could get it off. Had no problems. I really appreciate everyone's help. Made it ton easier.

Soaked in oil.
Once I got mine off, I sanded down the outside ridges to make them fit onto the new springs easier. They must have used some special press to install them at the factory.

my 08 stock rear spirings only took me yanking them, & they fit the SS/TC 'balt springs with minimal force..

Working on the front today, OMG what a PITA! So my air compressor isnt holding up to the air tools, so having to do it all by hands. then find out that the sway bar links are ****ed up had to cut them off with a grinder. so yeah tons of problems so far. stuck now on one side. havent finished, short parts, and cant get some of the bolts out... yay!

Sway links have a wrench surface just under the boots to hold while removing nuts....a lot of people don't realise this...

well i didnt lol. explorer and van werent made like that. but when i grabbed the sway link you could feel the ball joint in them popping in and out, plus no grease at all in them. right now im stuck on the steering knuckle bolts on driver side. passenger is done.
