Pedder Spring clearance concerns, please advise!

Please excuse me if I'm out of line, BUT....

There is a difference in the right strut and the left strut. Could you have switched them when installing the springs and installed them on the wrong sides.

At least, when I recently installed my SS struts there was a left and right, each Identified by a different part number.

Note....I just checked and there is also different part numbers for the right and left struts for the FE1, FE3 and the FE5. You might want to check this, because it indicates to me that the LEFT AND RIGHT ARE DIFFERENT.

LOL....probably with a little effort. But I honestly can't tell you, since I installed them correctly from the beginning.

I am new to the HHR so this is only from looking TODAY at struts for this car and my ION but I noticed that the main and only real difference is the bracket that is just below the spring perch. One is on the left side of it's strut and the other part number/side strut will have this same braket on the right side of the strut. The Monroes actually have both so that they can use just one strut for both sides.

Here is a pic of some (with bags insted of springs) and you can see the bracket under the perch is on the opposite sides on both struts.
