lowering rear??

I haul some fairly heavy loads from time to time and am wondering if lowering the rear with the Cobalt or other rear springs might present any problems, are any addition mods needed and is an alignment needed after installing the lower springs in the rear??

Shouldnt need a rear alignment as lowering shouldnt really change the geometry of a twist beam rear axle.
I had SS/SC springs in the rear, and they did give up a little too much under heavier loads. The SS/TC springs may be better.

gottahaveheart-

I have had the 08-09 balt SS/TC rear springs in my Panel for over a year & a half... & I haul quite a bit. Never bottomed out, & I did not cut the OE Bump stops either..

No problems, they lowered the rear 1-1/8" after many miles of settling..

got mine thru GM Parts Direct $74. total shipped to my door..

No alignment issues, tracks like on rails.. I have part #'s should you need..

sleeper, thanks for the information, I would really like to level out the rear....do you know if the SS/SC springs would lower the rear even more than the 1 1/8" ?, also I'm curious if these cobalt springs change the ride quality (I have the 2LT with FE3 sport suspension) and will my stock strut assemblies work with the cobalt springs?? thanks again.

You will be fine with the stock FE3 shocks, they work well with my Ground Force rear springs. Drop was about the same as guys are getting with the cobalt SS springs.

Yes the SS/SC springs do lower it a bit more, approx 1-3/8"...

They will ride slightly softer, than your stock springs. No problems with them on your struts & using the stock shocks...
