Rattling noise with GoldLine Leveling Springs?
I put mine on the other way. There are three coils touching at the bottom and I don't have any noise. I don't think the direction they are installed matters, but I don't know what else it could be. Just another goldline mystery I guess.
Okay I thought the original problem was a "thunk" in the rearend. I have noticed a rattle back there also shortly after I installed them. Is the tubing supposed to stop the ratlling noise also or just the thunking of the springs hitting eachother. Also which way does Goldline say they should be installed? Small coil upwards or down? I installed mine with the small coil on top (shown below) and have not had the thunk in my trunk just a rattle in back.
Yes the tubing is to isolate the coils that hit. Ive seen the Honda part and it is already coiled and split. I think I will try that as its inexpensive to try. Ive had mine out 3 times. 1st way, the Kahuna method, then flipped and that was REALLY clang-y. Took em out again today and you can see where they are hitting. Got some tubing from the hardware store, BIGGG CLUSTERSCREW. Decided to put em back in Kahuna Style and it's quieter. Still have the clunk going over small dips. I need to remove EVERYTHING to make sure.
I also had an issue with the license plate. Some dubbastick tape cured that.
It IS a COBALT underneath.

I have recently installed Canuck Motor Sports lowering springs and also have a intermittent rattling noise in the right rear area. Sounds like its coming the rear hatch door mechanism. It only happens at low speeds over small bumps sometimes.
or you're paying more attention to noises now......... My rear gate has always rattled a little bit, both before and after I put in leveling springs. (not Gold Lines, but Ground Force which are not stiffer until loaded, they're progressively wound springs)
Check the jack in the spare area and anything else that may be rolling around there,,also recheck the lower shock mounts to make sure they are still tight, Also make sure from the time you installed them to the time the rear hit the ground the top of springs are still in the right position..jockying the rear around to lower it to ground might have let them slip
and without actually climbing under neath with out lifting, it will appear to be correct when it is not...not likely spring rattle with the vehicle weight on them..if its an ugly sound check spring tops for position, otherwise flip them to kill the coil bind against lower arm cup.Worse case..get rear on ramps ,climb under and have someone lightly bounce rear..

I had the same grinding kinda bang on the right rear after putting in the gold lines.... I looked and ended up having one of the springs reversed ( still not sure which one, but they were in opposite each other) ...so I turned it over and viola! Silence......
