The 4 wheel disc package was an option, wasn't it? Something to look for...

Its not an option.. (I guess )
But its standard on the HHR SS model...

Do you think it would be possible to take the rear discs off an SS and convert them to a regular HHR?

If you look at a cobalt SS rear axle beam, it has the caliper mount welded to the assembly. A mount would have to be fabricated for our standard rear axle. I started researching this awhile ago, kinda gave up for the time being. The calipers & rotors are the same as the pontiac g6 & other epsilon platforms. Not sure if our hub/bearing assy. is the same as cobalt disc assy, would assume that it is. I would prefer a vented rotor, I may go a different route when I'm ready to do the disc conversion.

On mine.. the brackets were fabricated, and bolted on the back side of the spindle. This was the kit I obtained a year ago... for my Sandstone HHR
