I want to upgrade my '06 LT suspension, (FE1), with new struts, springs, control arms, front & rear sway bar. Please recommend vendors & parts as indicated above. Many thanks.

 

FE5 parts from CED except the rear sway bar (and possibly springs if you're looking for a drop). For the sway bar, Powell Raceshop.

I don't see the need for changing control arms though. The FE5's are aluminum, I don't remember if base HHR's came with steel arms or not.

Why are you wanting to do this?

 

Take a few minutes and do a search around the forum. You will find good answers to a lot of your questions

FE3 control arms are aluminum also.. I also don't see a need to change those. But up to the OP..

 

Only reason is for new bushings...

 

Woody- yep, that's reason enough to remove, I'd replace the oem bushings with Poly bushings..

That's impressive, would need to decrease the offset on the rims to clear, but not a biggie..
