I don't have a pic right now but I can try to get one tomorrow. But to describe it, when I say top mount, I mean the part that has the large nut visible in the center and the 3 mounting studs that enter the engine bay. The bearing that is sandwiched between it and the cap that sits on top of the spring is what is making the noise in mine. I plan to disassemble my stock struts and look at the bearing in it. If it's okay, I may try it in my new setup....just to test it.

Got my struts and upper mounts at Summit Racing (best price of stores that had them in stock).

Got my insulator parts at RockAuto.com

OKAY....4th time is the charm.

As I suspected, the KYB bearings were exactly my issue.
I pulled the struts AGAIN and tore everything apart. I also pulled the stock units apart.
After checking the bearings in the stock units, I determined that they were still in fine shape.

I installed the stock bearings (p/n 22210085) on my new struts and new top mounts.

After putting everything back together again, I had my wife crank it lock-to-lock over and over again.....NOT A SINGLE SOUND was heard

And just in case anyone is doing an assembly, my STOCK bearings were installed with the thicker part UP and the thinner part DOWN. If that doesn't make any sense, just hold a bearing in your hand and you will see a thick side and a thin side.

I think my noise is coming from the bearing to i do think i need insulators on the springs it going back in the shop monday. It does it when im turning the wheel left or right.

Since putting my factory bearings back in, I have driven several places and still hear ZERO noise. Couldn't ask for better results!

Thanks for pics. I talked with my uncle this morning as he helped me install the Canucks a few months back. We are going to wait until the fall and tear them down again. When I tear them down I'm going to go ahead and upgrade my struts.
