My 2 cents on this bar issue:
Cheap is never the way to go-unless you don't care about what you're using the part for. If you just putt around, and don;'t drive hard, then cheap may work for you.
If you drive hard at times, and want a part that works, then you have to step up and pay more, for a quality part that works.
Just because so and so buys a part and thinks it the "Holy Grail", is'nt always the way to go. Check around and do the math, and get the very best parts you can afford. Saves you possible grief, in the end. Even if you have to wait and save up to get the good stuff, is better than tossing your money, and finding out you ending up with a inferior part, that does'nt work the best.
If you want to do some track time[roundy round] then "Bigger" works. Preferablity a 1 1/4" bar or bigger. I'm running a 1 1/4" rear bar now, and will probably go to the 1 1/2" bar, for autocross use. "Moon"

 

Moon... Id offer to help you out with the old one you are about to take off but something tells me its fatigued ha ha just kidding with you I think I'll order the 1.5 I loved the difference the TTR made but since I switched to summer tires more stiffness will be more better.

 

SS fan: I think you'd be better off with the Powell 1 1/2" bar, if you push your ride hard.
I know for sure the 1 1/4" works really good, and think the bigger bar, just might work better.
I know the 1 1/4" bar I'm using, planted the rear real hard, and no drama at the limit.
You put the 1 1/2" bar on, give it a good workout, then let me know how it works. Guinny pigs are always in demand. "Moon"

 

I called Proggresive Engr. thought I would buy theirs today but they are out of stock until sometime in July, it is a solid bar, so Ill wait to see what the new Eibach bar will be.

 

I have the progressive bar, its cheaper and is enough for my street driving. I immediately felt the difference after the install, corners much better, but it still has a little give to it which I needed on the uneven highways around here.

 

Whatever bar you end up buying, depends of what kind of driving you plan to do. Just putting around, a cheap 1'' bar will probably work for you just fine. If you do a little turning and burning, you need a better bigger bar. You get what you pay for. The ole saying " You want fresh oats, or you want oats, that have already come through the horse". That pertains to any parts you buy. Cheap means, major corners were cut as to quality, and fuction. "Moon"

 

I think I will go with the OTT 1.25 inch bar at $240 plus shipping waiting for cost to ship, also asked is the bar solid, heat treated? I have no idea where are located. thank everyone for all the info I think it may help all lot of people, thats why I love this site.

Not solid, but best quality. Street Bar is more than enough for most.
