2007 hhr automatic transmission

i have found the transmission plug on top of the tranny to fill, it is black and threaded.
i cannot find the check plug. what the diagram points to on tranny is some sort of sensor on the tranny. am i missing something here?

There is no dipstick, the transmission is a sealed system.

Thats correct it is a sealed unit but there should be a check plug on it. Havent ever done mine. I may be wrong but i thought the check plug was also the plug to fill. i may learn something here too.

That is not the sensor that the arrow points at, it is that small bolt. It is 10mm I think. There should never be a need "under normal conditions" to check the A/T fluid level. Look under the car for puddles, and on the bottom of the trans for drips. Trans fluid does not evaporate.

swerv, I believe there are 2 plugs on the underside. One being a check plug and the other being the fill plug.

my check level plug is on the back side half way up the trans, check it on level ground only or you will be over full or running low!

Car level, engine running, tranny temp 104F; then remove plug to check for a drip/no drip. Level and engine running, or you will lose fluid!

Unless somebody has installed an after market pan with a drain there is no drain. On a stock trans there are no plugs on the bottom.

The plug is near the axle. If I remember correctly (highly possible 180 degrees wrong) on the passenger side.

The "fill" plug is actually a vent, and comes off by hand, located on the driver side top of the trans.
