Yes, very overfilled. Capacity is 7 qts, from bone dry. It's in the owner manual. The transmission could be damaged by operating the vehicle.

Thank you donbrew! Found the check plug. Anyone looking for the check plug.... passenger side, front of trans, below axle and almost directly behind the engine oil drain plug.

Drained out the excess ATF and took it for a test drive... only gears really working is Drive. Reverse, Intermediate and Low not working. Low and Intermediate will kind of work with some higher RPM's and some "clunking". Reverse will not engage, even if you are on a hill that will help roll backward. It acts like you are in Park. When I drained out the excess ATF, very black and toasty. I'm thinking the clutch disc's are fried.

Probably time to start a new thread on R&Ring of the trans.

Thanks for all the help,
JimW

Did you check it with the engine running?

Yes, engine/trans at operating temp, on jack stands and level.

How big of a deal is it to drop the tans?

Does the engine need to be running or just warm when checking?

So, take the cap off the fill port, and I can either fill it from the check plug or from the fill port?
