The solenoids are not "inside" the transmission, they are inside the bell housing. You just need to separate the trans from the engine enough to work on them.
Of course, GoOgle will provide part numbers in a second or 2.

I was watching a video on how to do it in this form and it looked like you dropped the driver side frame connector and pull the axle out and it was a cover there that the solenoids are behind. Does that sound right?

semantics, as it still requires more disassembly than I feel comfortable with, going in thru the pan or going in the side makes no difference to me

and feel free to use whatever google search you want, I try to be helpful when I can since I have the exact same catalog that GM dealers have, but best of luck
