A VERY VERY Serious Transmission for Serious tuners plus MORE!!!!:

Just found this as I was looking for a transmission for my broken SS. Thought this is cool and never seen it on this site:
4T65E High Performance Street/Strip model
http://tripleedgeperformance.com/Transmissions.html

Also, go to your local GM dealership and order ($36) GM Sport Compact Performance Build Book 3rd Edition Part # 88958728

It's a Bad @$$ build book for all types of Ecotec builds to include 500+ HP natural aspirated engines, Transmissions, Chassis Upgrades. This book has parts referencing and picture diagram for step by step install for most of the performance part talked about. A very wise investment if you are serious about tuning your ECOTEC the right way, the proven way. The trans link listed above is listed in this book as well. Good luck I hope you enjoy.

Nice call, lets keep this going. I want people that DO order this book to add to this thread as well VIA mods, changes, what works, what doesn't. I think this could be a cool opportunity to open doors.

What kind of coil overs are those and how much are they? Do they ride better and perform better?

Interesting web site and I would probably consider one of these over a GM dealer replacement if I had a problem.

But I'm a little confused. Why are you looking at these transmissions....they are automatics and the builder clearly indicates they are NOT for supercharged or turbocharged vehicles.

Didn't you say your HHR is a manual transmission?

Did you scroll down to the High performance model all I see is you need more goodies for more HP ? Am I reading that wrong ?

They are KW v2 I like what I have done so far, there is a lot of adjustment that makes big difference, I believe I will love them, when I get them dialed in. Lots of room to dial down, and keep the same ride. This is 1/2" from as high as they will go, dropped 1.25 front and 1.00 back.

SS fan...thanks for pointing that out. I did miss the point about supercharged engines.

But also, the last one on the page, the HP HD model, would not provide the integrity for a 519 HP "to the wheel" that Bushmaster is claiming....even with the upgraded additional cost items. After all, his 519 hp to the wheels, generally calculates out close to 600 at the crank.

But I'm still wondering why he is looking at an automatic trans, when he currently has a manual.

If you scroll down to the bottom trans (3rd one there) those are built for S/C and T/C. Plus the company builds for your specs. I emailed them (only option for contact) asking if they can convert to manual.

Was answered by another post. I guess you're still not reading all the posts completely.

But I do thank you for your automatic vs. manual transmission answer. But why not find someone that already specializes in manual transmissions. I would think that would be a better option than someone that would do a "one off" and has no expertise in manuals......IMO.
