I'm pushing 130,000 miles and the struts are a little tired. Generally I do the entire front end just because it's not much more work once it's apart and I won't be tearing it back apart in a month for the next piece to fail. When I replace things I like to upgrade with the best available parts hence my question here. I figured this community would know what works and what doesn't. I was surprised to find that Moog is selling repackaged Chinese stuff. I was hoping that if there was a superior product someone here would be aware. Premium parts more than make up for the extra cost in longevity and ability to withstand actual use.

Yeah I was leaning KYB if I don't do coilovers. Coilovers are cool but you really need to know what you want before you cascade into trial and error and error and trial. It can be an expensive process. So far I haven't pushed the brakes capabilities but while I'm at it. I had to replace one of my front caliper brackets due to salt, etc so a complete upgrade could almost be justified.

KYB aren’t coil overs, they are struts and shocks, I’ve put 230,000 miles on a set , no leaks no bouncy suspension, I just swapped them out because they were 10 years old!
The front caliper brackets need to be changed for the 11.6 inch rotors, so you might as well do the conversion, you’ll be happy you did, just order for 2008 SS front brakes!

Like I said a while back; I recommend getting rebuilt axles from Autozone/Advance/ PepBoys/O'reilly. I have had better experience with rebuilt than new ones, not much cheaper.

Yeah. I was hoping there was something substantially better considering what the engine is capable of.

I have never heard of one breaking, not even from the drag racing crowd. Ball bearings wear out by their nature. There is only a CV on the outer end the inner is a tri-pot slip joint.
