Gas Mileage
Solman.....
I'll defer to ChevyMgr. But I think who ever told you about an "external" fuel filter, may be a little confused. Try and buy one. No part number is listed and the GM parts counter people say.....permanant with fuel pump. But they could be wrong, I suppose.
Read entries in this link...especially those by ChevyMgr, who I would think, would know......but you can also read his quote in his signature.

We also have discussed this many times related to the maintenance package deals some shops provide. It parallels "Power steering flush".....

Fits HHR, Cobalt, G6 G5 Mailbu and others..... I also got mine from a reputable source...... Had to have one replaced on one of our Fleet Vehicles. Not saying there is not one one the pump, just an inline also.

Sorta like the older Dex-Cool back in the 90's that was good for how long, but then was bad for your engine...
mpg is increased again!!!
i did nothing to my hhr , except wash and put rain x on the windows....gas went up 10-15 cents....i think that the gas is different....i always buy from the same place...i been testing premium for about 2 weeks now....outside temp has been 60-70 for 2 weeks , so that hasn't changed....it was very wet w/rain on/off....they must have changed the gas....my mpg has went up 2-3...i'll know for sure how much in a few days....i can't believe the dash thing is showing 32-35 above 70mph.
