I'll defer to ChevyMgr. But I think who ever told you about an "external" fuel filter, may be a little confused. Try and buy one. No part number is listed and the GM parts counter people say.....permanant with fuel pump. But they could be wrong, I suppose.

Read entries in this link...especially those by ChevyMgr, who I would think, would know......but you can also read his quote in his signature.

Part number GF111 08

Fits HHR, Cobalt, G6 G5 Mailbu and others..... I also got mine from a reputable source...... Had to have one replaced on one of our Fleet Vehicles. Not saying there is not one one the pump, just an inline also.

its supposedly good for life, or something crazy like that. to change it you have to drop the tank.

Ha ha...yeah, let's see if that's the case in 10 years!!!

Sorta like the older Dex-Cool back in the 90's that was good for how long, but then was bad for your engine...

mpg is increased again!!!

i did nothing to my hhr , except wash and put rain x on the windows....gas went up 10-15 cents....i think that the gas is different....i always buy from the same place...i been testing premium for about 2 weeks now....outside temp has been 60-70 for 2 weeks , so that hasn't changed....it was very wet w/rain on/off....they must have changed the gas....my mpg has went up 2-3...i'll know for sure how much in a few days....i can't believe the dash thing is showing 32-35 above 70mph.

Lucky! According to the DIC, I was getting 30mpg going 55....

I drive 66.3 miles round trip everyday from home to work. take me 45 mins drive time. I had an 07' LT with a 2.2.. got 30.1 to 30.8.. now I have a 08' LT2 with a 2.4.. drive the same way get 26.9 to 28.9..
