Laughing about the DIC (fuel range)
So I fill up the SS this morning on the way home from work.
The fuel range says = 382 miles
5 miles down the road= 396 miles
10 miles down the road= 402 miles
15 miles down the road= 411 miles
17 miles. At home = 413 miles
Bingo. I have the only HHR that is making it's own gas!

They'll do that George, the (estimated) fuel range is based on an algorithm that uses throttle position & road speed.
Please see the correction below from ChevyMgr....I did a dumb....Bad brain, keep that up and I'll poke you with a stick.

Actually the reading is based on gallons in the tank and what your current average miles per gallon is, as shown in the DIC.
From the owners manual:
FUEL RANGE
Press the information button until FUEL RANGE displays. This mode shows the remaining distance you can drive without refueling in either miles (mi) or kilometers (km). It is based on fuel economy and the fuel remaining in the tank.
When the fuel level is low, FUEL RANGE LOW displays.
The fuel economy data used to determine fuel range is an average of recent driving conditions. As your driving conditions change, this data is gradually updated. The FUEL RANGE mode cannot be reset.

You are correct Sir, got my readings confused, my brain was thinking about the "instant mpg" reading...sorry.
Since I managed to take down two ceilings this morning without doing my usual Tim "Tool-Time" Allen impersonation and falling off the ladder, I had to goof something up.

Well I didn't say anything about the chunk of drywall that smacked me in the head, but apparently it did do some drain bamage after all....that's what happens when I don't wear my crash helmet like my wife tells me to.
Me go off somewhere to drool now, wife home soon, make yum yums for food....yay!
