2006 average 25 with 2.4- auto, have 17's stock
better by +1 to 2 mph with sunoco or shell, less with hess / cosco=bj, valero in the middle.

I would guess less alcohol in the gas = better mph.

2011/2.2/auto/45k/stock. Variable weather. Temps generally in the 40's. Mixed metro/suburban driving. Hilly lowlands. Right now getting 25 mpg on the nose according to DIC.

Yesterday, I was playing gas gauge suicide and watching both MPG readings very closely. At 55MPH it was over 30 MPG at 65 it went down to 26MPG.

I did make it to the cheap Costco with 3/4 of a gallon to spare. $0.50 difference by getting across the river.

Costco is not so cheap as far as their gasoline quality.....maybe in price however. Costco as of the first of the year is rated as a TOP TIER gasoline and made it to the official list about a month ago.

My town got a new Sheetz that is underpricing everybody by $.20 Costco is matching the price. The Sheetz is on the other side of town I drive past Costco anyway. Plus North of the river they have "smog" formula gas, South of the river is in a different region.

That's been going on for more than a month.

I was very surprised at the huge diff in MPG vs 5 MPH.

2009 ss all stock 23 mpg average speed 24mph.
Hard on it 10 to 15 percent of the time otherwise easy on gas.
Tank is half regular and just put(1/2) 93 premium gas mpg started going up first couple miles.
Last reset was few hundred miles on readout.
Think I'll be running 93 for now on some cars do like it some don't matter much, was wondering why my mpg's was going up forgot I just filled half 93.

averaged 35 mpg this weekend taking the back roads light house hunting in Michigan. Outside temp was about 55° F and running with the sunroof partially open for portions of the ride. Was really surprised/impressed with the mileage.

No mods, just a factory 2.4L auto. Nice open backroads though, speeds 55 normally. Beginning to really dig this car.

I've been running up I-95 yesterday and today and getting 32 mpg @ 65-70 mph. St George, SC has gas for $3.339/ gal for regular. But I stopped one stop south and paid $3.439.

Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt but I just got a look at SS Fan's HHR (See page 1 of this thread...)

What is it, the wheels? The chrome mirrors? The visor? The camera angle?
That is ONE. FINE. LOOKING. HHR. Impressive.

Note to self: Don't park next to SS Fan.
