06 chev hhr 2.4 litre front end shake

yes my hhr 06 has a terrible shake in the front. it happens at different times while driving. it feels like the front axles but looking for opinion??? My car has 250,000 kms. I am actually thinking of replacing the hole front end and the start to rebuilding my car

Not really enough information provided to give a reliable and accurate solution !!!!

Tires?
Air pressure?
Damaged rim?
Rotor?
Hub/bearings?
Struts?
Axle shafts?
Mounts?
Alignment?
Balance?
Etc.
etc.
etc.

each would have a slightly different symptom, and would depend on the, "terrible shake" you lightly describe. And it would also depend on the maintenance schedule with the age and mileage on the car. It also could be all of these.

With that mileage the control arm bushings are a likely cause, often a wobble on acceleration. But as snoopy says, there are a lot of parts in the front end that wear.

front end shaking could be coming from a variety of issues. My first target would be with the tires then work my way into the front end until the source is found.

Agreed not enuff info... I'd have a close look at the front rims to see if you 'tossed' a wheel balance weight..

Just for a starting place..

Thanks everyone this has been a headache of mine since I was at 150,000 km. I have nice summer rims with all new tires I have done axles, sway bars anything anyone has told me needs changing. Now I am at 250,000 and after last winter I think I am going to start with new tires etc then get into the struts and axles and wheel bearings. Thanks everyone

snj- Just a thought here, are your rims aftermarket ?

If so, did you add hub-centric rings to center the rims ?
