2006 versus 2007

I just took Alex to the airport after he delivered my friend Cheryl's new-to-her HHR. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/deleted-threads-41/sold%2A06-hhr-lt-5spd-%24200-below-trade-value-%24800-price-drop-%248200-31228/ Final cost of loaded (sunroof, heated leather seats) 2006 2LT was about $8500 delivered. Alex put on new rotors and pads, had new tires put on, and we replaced the struts and sway bar links and bushings. It has 86K and should be a great car for her.

I'm noting subtle differences between her 2006 and my 2007 similarly loaded 2LT (she has the side airbags and I don't). The 2006 buttons on the steering wheel have a different feel and the INFO button on my 2007 has a different label. Could someone steer me to the thread about this and how to upgrade it? The knob that adjusts the inside lights doesn't have the stop at the end of its travel that you can hold down and make the dome and mirror lights come on. The map lights on the self-adjusting rear view mirror are incandescent instead of LED. They actually seem to be a bit brighter, but I wonder what it takes to replace one if it burns out. I hear that there is some difference with the daytime running lights or other lighting. Could someone restate what that is for me?

Are there any other model year differences that I missed?

Thanks

For 2006, the Daytime Running Lights are the amber parking lights that come on when you're driving during the day. For 2007 and later, the DRL uses the headlamp instead.

For some reason, GM did not make the dimmer switch operate the dome light. There is an easy how-to to make it work though. I did it to both of our 2006's.

inside dimmer switch upgrade

Could you please link to the "how to" to get the switch to light up the dome light? Ah, I found it now: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...ight=2006+2007
