4000 mile road trip

My wife and I are getting ready to take our new HHR on a 4000 mile road trip from Houston to New York. We will be on the road for almost a month. We are hoping our new HHR will help make our trip a great one. We make this trip every year. This is one reason we purchased an HHR. We traded in a 2004 Trailblazer that made the run 3 times. Can't wait to hit the road in style and save myself a bundle in gas money. Sure hope we can get 30mpg on the open road.

What is your planned route? There may be members all along the way to meet and greet.

I hope you are going up I-81 for the northern part of your trip. You can pick up I-81 in Knoxville if I am not mistaken. The last time I went up to Jersey I tried 81 and it was beautiful and had less traffic than my old way up I-85 to I-95.I'll never fight that traffic on I-95 again. From here in Lower Alabama up to the Jersey Shore there was only a 60 mile difference using the "scenic route". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_81

Just got home from a 2,000 mile trip and all went great. Averaged 28.7 MPG with a full load of people and luggage. That includes driving around Denver, and a trip in the mountains. We had enough stuff in the car on the trip to our hotel and home it gave the HHR a lowered look . Good luck with your journey, I hope you have as great a trip as we did. BTW I saw very few HHRs on the trip. Kind of disappointed we didn't see more.
