I don't think kids would make him sleep on the couch. But "The Other Half" would, for sure.

No kids for me, thank you. My family's DNA strands are going to die out with me if I have anything to say about it! 
And WD-40 works, true, but on carpeting? Noooo thank you! Seems like putting a greasy cheeseburger over the spot would do the same thing...
