Air Filter Question.

Don't mean to ask a wierd question but what are the advantages of an oil free filter over a oil based filter like a K&N on a CGS Intake. I have the intake installed but can't drive it till I figure out what filter to run. All input would be greatly appreciated. Also what size should the base be? 3"?

A dry paper filter will not coat your MAF diodes with oil over time.

I don't know about the base size for after market cone filters for the CGS intake, I'm using the stock setup I think it works fine as a cold air intake.

I was just wondering what people were using for filters over the outlaw filter. I read post talking about it rubbing and stuff. I haven't found to many dry element filters that are either cheap or that I like. I prefer using K&N but I saw these ones @ Advance Auto Parts that I like as well. They were made by AEM and APC. I guess the real question was will a oil based filter hurt anything?
