My advice is to figure out what you want and then look for a lightly used one... you can get more HHR for less money. Don't have to sacrifice the sunroof or larger engine when you can get a used 2LT for less than the price of a new LS.

Chances are, once you own one you're going to wish you had what everyone else does. That's one of the reasons my 2LT only lasted 5 months before I traded up for an SS.

i have thought about it, but believe it or not, i was told by 4, yes 4 different banks that i don't have good enough credit score to buy used, but i can buy new???? i have a 675 C.S. but oh well, im tired of used im only 25 and this is going to be my 11th car, and i have never been in a wreck. i just don't have that kinda of luck with used cars, so im shooting for new.

Wink Welcome (almost) to the HHR familia!

Ethan, you won't be disappointed. I do have a 2LT, but even the LS is quite nice and can be modified to how you want it to look. Most of the mods are easy, inexpensive and with a little help from the SoCal guys, I was able to put on my own leveling springs and sway bar.

I will have had my Blackie a year on 8.31.08 (a b-day present to myself last year) and I STILL have a smile on my face when I walk up to him and can't wait to go driving--anywhere. With the decent gas mileage, I look for the longest and/or most scenic routes to get home.

Only issue I've had is a rail in the sunroof breaking last month, but was replaced within a week and all is good again.

The other posters are correct--get as much as you can options-wise out of the dealer and even look at a 1LT if you can which can give you a few more options (like a sunroof!). 2008 LT's should have the running boards standard on them, not sure about the LS.

@ngelita...still digging her HHR!

well i have no interest in a sunroof, im kinda doing a inventory search instead of building, so i'm gonna get what i get, but if it comes with a sunroof then cool but im not askin for one. all i really want is the 2.4 and a 5 speed with running boards and hopefully real wheels not hubcaps.

The boards are standard for the 2LT, optional for the 1LT and LS.
