Synthetic or not, I would still be more comfortable checking it at regular intervals. I have a huge diesel RV with an Allison six speed transmission, filled with synthetic. Though the change cycle is 100,000 miles, it does have a dip stick for checking at least every time the vehicle is serviced.

From my 08 Owners Manual, 50K change (Severe Service only). See footnote (h)
section 6, page 8.

Change automatic trans fluid & filter if..........

- In heavy city traffic where outside temp regularly reaches 90*F
- In hilly or mountainous terrain
- When doing frequent trailer towing
- Uses such as found in taxi, police or delivery

If not, it does not require changing.

PS: I'll be changing mine at 50K anyway. Syn Fluid is much cheaper than a tranny..

I agree with you Sno White. Like SSguy its in the manual
-In heavy city traffic where outside temp regularly reaches 90*F-
-In hilly or mountainous terrain-I live in Texas hmmm this concerns me. Im like some of you guys with or without a dipstick I still want to know fluid level. There is a cap on top move the wires over and you will see it. Its the path flow of wires between the engine and fuse box area. On the bottom a small screw same side as the torque converter is on. And of course there is a drain plug. I've got to get a camera.
