Bong, bong, bong!

I was alone coasting a couple of days ago in neutral in my manual-transmission HHR. Suddenly, I heard a series of about six "bongs" coming from the car. These are the warning noises that it makes for the door open, key in ignition, etc. There were three slow, three about twice as fast, and then they stopped. Everything in the car worked normally before, during, and afterward. No check engine light came on, and no messages were displayed on the DIC. I have no idea what happened - does anyone else? Regarding the first response below, I don't remember having anything on the passenger seat.

Did you have anything on the passenger seat? Every once and again the weight of my laptop and briefcase cause the sensor for the airbag to "lose its mind" and give me some spurious bongs. If it does it again look at the indicator for the passenger side airbag. Any other ideas gang?

I got that same "bong song" a couple weeks ago.Only thing I found was I left my turn signal on while merging onto the interstate. It apparently stayed on about 1-2 miles.(Please,no old people jokes) Didn't know these cars would sense a turn signal on too long.

Either he was coasting for a LONG time, or that's not it. I've been out of gear on a long gentle rolling decline for what felt like minutes. It's a great way to get 40+ MPG average. Never been bonged at.

Also have seen the tach bounce a little and the RPM's get wacky. Car runs fine, again no codes, no fix. These cars are so heavily monitored it would make sense the system would burp now and then.
