Question can I power off cigarette lighter?

,

I have a dash cam and radar detector installed in my '07 HHR Panel . The cigarette lighter/power outlet always stays On and If I don't turn off these devices manually it kills the battery . Is there any place where I can tap into power that cuts off when the car is turned off?

Thanks in advance.

I found on my '09 that I have a fuse in the panel for the sunroof. I dont have a sunroof so thats where i have plugged in those type of devices. It comes on when the car starts or the key is turned to accessory. And shuts off when the car door opens with the key removed or times out like the dome lights

I don't see why you couldn't splice in a manual power toggle and maybe run it to the drivers side..

Thanks!
That's a fuse tap right? What type/size? Also what fuse # is to the roof one to? I checked under the hood and I'm assuming it's #10 L/GATE/S/ROOF (20A)?

Thanks for the reply. Splice manual power toggle like a switch? Was thinking about that but want to avoid any manual intervention.

Cool good luck with your install. I run a dash cam too. You can catch some crazy stuff on camera.
