Changing Seats

Hi - I currently have a 2011 HHR w/ heated power seats. I want to switch my drivers side seat out with a manual non-heated seat. My questions are:

1. Is the bolt pattern the same ?

2. If the power and heating connectors are unplugged, will it affect the airbag sensor and seat belt sensor ?

3. Are the bolt patterns the same for different years ?

Thanks !
- Jim

There are only 2 bolt; on the back side, then the seat flips forward and off a rail. All models and years seem to be the same.

Seat presence sensor is a different circuit from the heater.

Thanks. My seat has become really uncomfortable over the years, so rather than spend $1000 for a new dealer supplied seat (really - $1000 !!), I want to try a junkyard seat and see if that does the trick.

You could re stuff them. The bolsters are listed in the parts catalogs.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I've done that - twice. Problem is, they have to stuff from the bottom of the seat (so as not to interfere with the heating element), and the top is really what's needed. I just assume switch seat seats and keep the original as is, I can just put it back, fully functional.

You are worried about keeping the heating pad, but it is OK to just put a seat in without one ?

The heating pad is not integral.

I don't understand that reasoning.

Because when I sell the car, I want to put the original seat back in, with everything working.

This parts diagram shows all the parts are separate. Pick and choose.

Maybe try one of these. My wife has an old back injury and we take one of these wherever we go. We have one in the car, one in the house and one we take to travel.
