no im putting the new one on. lund is sending me a new set cuz two of mine cracked at the bend points. really i jus wanna know it the sticky tape gets stuck in the channel?

It sticks to the rubber, holding them in place. You shouldn't have any problems.

Just be careful and close them slowly for a while so that the visor/rubber settles into a position so that the window will close freely.
