We have updated results for the HHR to include owner experiences through March 31, 2010. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 76

2007: 71

2006: 56--possibly lower because out of warranty, and not bothering with minor issues?

All are about average.

In about a week we'll start previewing the next set of results to participants. The preview results will be updated as responses come in--for me it's like watching the results of a presidential election, only four times a year.

My focus: how many model years will we be able to cover this time around? This depends on the number of owners that participate.

I am at almost 1 year old and 10,500 miles and no problems. Never been back to dealer.

 

49,000 miles and zero problems other than a re-program a while back (free) when I killed the battery. Modified and driven hard every day. Got 29.5 mpg on a long trip keeping up with CA fast lane traffic the whole way. Still love it.

 

There does seem to be quite a few brake,suspension,rust,etc issues in the HHR line. The reliability numbers also don't seem very impressive. This is surprising for a vehicle going into it's 7th year of production. You would think things would be well sorted by now.

as far as relibility goes mine has been great.....a couple brake issues and a/c noise. mostly interior issues.....but never left me stranded and the car is used for work and is on for 8-9hrs somedays from house to house

my 2006 2lt over 45000 miles never been to dealer for repairs I changed the cam solnoids myself, I did have the oil change anr 29 point inspection they did not find anything that needed to be fixed brakes at 52% of life left.

 

We have updated results for the HHR to include owner experiences through June 30, 2010. Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the more recent months until the summer or even fall of next year.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 69

2007: 66

2006: 50--possibly lower because out of warranty, and not bothering with minor issues?

The 2007 and 2008 are about average, while the 2006 is better than average.

As always, the more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone. A couple more 2006s would be especially helpful--we fell just short of being able to provide some advanced stats on this year.
