As a sign guy who removes badging frequently on EMS and patrol vehicles, hit the emblem with a heat gun - don't sit and cook it, but move the gun around to heat it up (and the adhesive tape) behind it. Then try a braided fishing line like Spiderwire to move it. Personally, I use a small spackle knife - the longer and thinner the better - and work it right behind the badge to loosen the tape. Once you get a corner to move, the rest is easy.

I used the fishing line (was 17lb.) if that matters. than a spackle knife once I got a corner up. had some adhesive left on, took my time with a wash cloth and sprayed wd-40 and rubbed off .
