Chrome Scripts - Great source - MuttonHollow
Hi Folks, I just wanted to pass along a good experience I had ordering Chevy parts. I called "Mutton Hollow" Chevrolet restoration parts to inquire about the best scripts for my car. I got the owner Mark Brewer, and he was extremely helpful. He indicated that he sells a lot of scripts to HHR owners, and suggested the '55-56 script. I also bought a '56 dash script. The parts came today, very fast delivery, and the scripts are beautiful. I called a few other dealers asking about dimensions and such, and learned little. Mutton Hollow was the key, and I would highly recommend them. The number is 801-546-3274. The website is http://www.muttonhollowchevys.com/Scripts_c_46.html . I hope this helps someone. God Bless, Marc

nice
those are nice...i really like them better than the vinyl or plastic 1s that others sell....but wouldn't the style be different if you were trying to duplicate the 49 suburban look ?....i know it doesn't really matter and that most people would never know the difference....i'm just curious.
You're right Catdaddy, and I thought about it long and hard. I just decided I liked the look of the '55-'56 better. The long scripts just looked better (to me) on that section of the hood versus the truck ones that look more "deco". We'll have to get together one day as I am not far from you. God Bless, Marc
Hello CatDaddy, These do come with the pins. No installation yet. I figured out a way to get them leveled to what is right to my eye. I have cut out two pieces of heavy paper the same size as the emblems as templates. I cut down two flexible magnets to hold a template. I can attach the template to the car, stand back, and ponder it, and move it as needed. So far, I like the scripts a little lower at the tail than paralleling the fender break line. Once I like where the template is sitting, then I can follow the bottom of the template with masking tape as a reference line. That way I'll know it is where I like it when I attach it. I've already mounted the interior script on the dash pad and I'm happy. That was a very hard one, as there are no hard reference lines. It's all by eye with masking tape....keep changing until the line is right. If you want to see any of this in person, head east 20 miles. :-) God Bless, Marc
