That's funny to me not so much for you jimvw. Noticing the HHR in front of yours also.
As far as your kids and cars, mine always says BUT on youtube they say...
I always thought of the name smart car as an oxymoron. I had the occasion to sit in one at a dealership once and thought a golf cart was more spacious. Probably because of the closed in space.
BUT with gas prices over $5.00 here and rising another ten cents just yesterday, they are looking smarter with each passing hour. Add another .40+ cents for the recommended 91 octane.
Around town grocery getter. With an optional mower deck for the back fourty acre field?

Well, actually the name SMART came from Swatch, Mercedes and ART for artistic. Body concept came from Swatch as the body panels(made from plastic) were interchangeable so you could change colors, Mercedes, who came up with chassis and drive train, etc, and ART as it was an artistic venture, one of the only modern cars displayed in the Guggenheim museum of art. I had a few of these and found them to be quite roomy (for one) and at 6'4", it fit well in there for driving the 53 miles each way to work, it paid for itself in fuel savings. Even after taking out a 4 point buck on the way home one night, I drove the 20 some miles with no problems except lost a headlight. It bounced like a ping pong ball and the airbags didn't even go off. $800 bucks and a weekend later, the whole front was replaced and I was back driving to work. Owned 3 different ones and enjoyed each one until I wore them out. Yes they were strange and being so lightweight you did have to watch the winds and stuff, but they were a fun car. I was lucky enough to trade up to my HHR which is even better as I can drive in stronger crosswinds.... IF I ever get it back from my son...
