A couple things about our HHR

Sometimes when it rains, we're getting water inside on the front passenger floorboard. Why? How do I fix that?

I am needing to replace the spark plugs soon and was wondering what anyone can suggest. I was looking at possibly getting the Bosch Platinum 2 at Walmart.

Thanks for any help!

I checked some of your other posts on this forum. Your potential water leak has been suggested to you before. Since you didn't seem to follow up back then when your blower resistor went bad, not really sure why you waited so long to look for a fix now.

Water leak. Do a Search for butyl patch. Plenty of info on this problem in the 2006 models.

Spark plugs. Forget the Bosch plugs. The HHR's can be very finicky when it comes to changing plugs. Best to get a new set of the original AC Delco iridiums that came with from the factory.

One tip on the spark plugs is that they come "pre gapped" but you should still check the gap before you swap them out

When you check the gap don't use the old timey wire gap gauge. Use either a wide flat feeler gauge or the round kind with the spiral ramp around the outside.

The wire ones tend to disturb the coating on the plug which causes problems.

AC Delco Iridium plugs have such delicate center electrodes that Delco recommends visually checking the plugs for damage, but no attempts should be made to check or regap the plugs using any tools.

Except for one that was damaged out of the box, and one that fumble fingered me dropped on the garage floor, I've never had any issues of inconsistent gaps on Iridium plugs.

If a gap is inconsistent, or the plug is damaged, return it for replacement. Your HHR takes AC Delco part number 41-103, and George is correct, forget using anything but the Delco plugs. The Ecotec engines were designed around them, and folks here who have strayed from the Delco plugs regretted their choice very quickly. Poor mileage, misfire trouble codes, loss of power, etc.
