Could be the hood latch switch. It has 2 switches in it, one open and one not open

I'll look for it when I get a chance. If it is broken and thinks the hood is open when it isn't, wouldn't a "hood open" warning show on the display?

No, there is door ajar and gate ajar, no hood.
