Driving Without Gauge Cluster?

I'm thinking of getting a retro gauge cluster for my 06. I would remove the cluster and send it to the vendor to do the replacement. They claim a week turnaround time. Can it be driven without the cluster without causing any mileage or other problems? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn’t drive it with out speedometer, might cause some BCM issues.

Gauge Cluster

Being retired, I don't drive much so not too worried about speed or gas level. Pardon my ignorance, but what is BCM? Thanks so much Oldblue!

I wonder what a gauge cluster from a boneyard is worth.

It would need to be VIN matched to the HHR, but would work for most functions .
I’ve seen them used for $40.00 and up

On a 4 gen Camaro, it's fine for 2000-2001 but in 1998, no cluster disables the alternator. I expect it would not be a problem on an HHR, but I've no actual knowledge.

The cluster is a node on the LAN. I don't know if it would make noticeable problems.
