G.M. dealerships in vancouver canada are crappy.
I did a lot of internet searching for my HHR. You didn't see them on the lot in early 2006. The ones that were there were fully loaded 2LTs for $24K. I didn't want a sun roof nor leather interior. The sales staff didn't really want to be helpful, just finance the loan, while I was looking strictly low price. The one I did get was on the lot, probably the only LT around.
I've never had a "good" buying experience in forty years of buying cars. I've always left the "deal" with an off taste in my mouth. It must be the personality types that get into a car salesman business.

Ok...Chooch and Crashman...
Please don't take offense. I did not mean it as such.
I have seen salespeople completely shun prospective buyers because of how they dressed, age, etc. I was only offering it as a possibility.
Oh....and I, by no means, are supporting the dealers. Most members know.....I think, in most instances, dealers suck (big time).

I'm just trying to suss this out in my own head. There is no good reason to ignore a customer unless they give you a good reason NOT to take them seriously. If it happened at more than one dealership, there must be more to this story than you're letting on...
Gosh, sorry to hear about your experience. Mine was pretty good at McGee in Goderich, ON. The service department is good too. While my HHR was in for service they drove me and the wife to the mall, and came and picked us up when we were done. The bathrooms are even spotless there!

no more ''story''.
NO HHRCRAFTY, there is no more to the ''story''. Today i got a phone call from the general sales manager at the original dealership i went to test drive a 2007 hhr roughly 2 weeks ago. This wasnt the dealership i had a major beef with. The salesman there was great and let me test drive the vehicle. I was told he quit and left for another part of the country..hence the no follow up regarding pricing and finding me the model i wanted. The general manager apologized and asked me to come in, which is what i did at 1pm today. He looked up on his computer and could not find ONE hhr with a manual transmission in the whole entire region of british columbia. So he got my name and number along with the specifics of what i wanted and got me on a list of potential buyers for the hhr turbo when it arrives. My major complaint was the second dealership which i went to twice and had absolutely no help or acknowledgment. END OF STORY , thanks.
Tell you what Chooch, come to Texas we'll put you up feed you BBQ take you to a great dealership and you can have a nice comfortable drive home in the HHR flavor of your choice. All you have to do is return the favor of a place to stay if we ever get to come to Canada.

'' don't mess with texas''. well pardner, thats mighty nice of y'all fer offering. Now i got your attention, RCSART, how well does your air conditioner work in the texas heat? Cold cold cold? enuff to freeze a penguin's pecker off? The a/c in my honda civic is pretty lame . I think it be great if chevy offers the option of a a/c cold glovebox/cooler like on some chryslers of late.
No offence at all Snoopy, I was actually trying to support your point of what I'll broadden to 'attitude and apperance'. Everyone gets sized up when they walk on to a car lot or a men's clothing store... Nice watch, good shoes, wife not girlfriend, car seats not 'bling'...
Salespeople will 'know' who's serious and who's messing around and 90% of that is probably based on apperance.
I used to fly a lot... here's something I did from time to time until I decided it was more pleasent to go with plan b... fly out in a pair of jeans and a crisp T-shirt (color your choice :) ) fly home with the same only with a nice 'sport jacket'. Unfortunalty... plan B usually gets you the better treatment all around.
I'm not insinuating anything about your apearance Cooch either.
