Gm Parts Direct

Just a heads up. BEWARE. I finally bit the bullett last night and ordered running boards from them. 335 plus 70 shipping total was 405. Paid with PayPal instantly. This afternoon, I got an e-mail from then stating that the price wasn't correct, and wanted me to send an additional 65 dollars. This price of 335 has been on their site for the last two months at least because I have been watching it till I saved up the money for them. Oh they were really big and said they would honor the shipping charges. So when dealing with them, beware that they do not honor their prices. I got my money back through PayPal and am starting to look for another set.

whooo weee I do not likey gmpartdirect. I had a very similar issue with them a couple years back. I order all my chevy parts from www.chevyclub.org I decided a long time ago I would educate people about gmdirect and there horrid busisness practices. I think they think they are well enough known that a few uhappy people here and there wont matter.

Yeah I know there are several members with alot of "GOOD" to say about GMPARTSDIRECT, not here! I personally do not like just working with emails as a form of communication! Then they kind of fround after I Googled them and was able to get a phone number! Give me partszoneonline any day!

Sorry I do not play their price game.

I work for a large mail order firm. and the general rule is we will give the wrong price in 90% of the cases.

We also offer contact with Phone. E mail. Chat and now even Face book. I have a speaker company now with E mail only and have yet to reply to my questions. At this point they have lost my sale.

GM parts direct lost me when they wanted $100 Shipping on the stage kit of less than a pound.

Well, I tried chevy club yesterday. They had them listed on their website for $409. Since I am only about 100 miles north of them in I figured I could pick them up and the wife could get to visit with the son and daughter in law. Well, called them about availibility, and they could have them by next weekend. Only problem was they wanted $479. When I pointed out to them that their website was $409 he hung up on me.
Where I work, if we have a bin full of widgets and someone wants to buy one of them, we sell it for the price marked. If we discover that it is mis priced, we still sell it to them for the marked price and THEN go change the price on the others. I guess that bait and switch on the prices works for some places. They figure that since you are already ready to buy that they can just raise their prices and you will still take the deal. Oh well, the search goes on. I will eventually find some one selling these running boards at a decent price that they stand behind.

I ordered my slush mats from gmpartsdirect and got them within a week and half, which I think is acceptable. But this was my first order from them.

If you want discounted pricing on GM parts without the inflated shipping charges and complete lack of human assistance, I suggest GMPartshouse.com Gene Culley is a stand up guy, and the landed prices are pretty close to GMPD (they buy at the same price tier) without the "teaser" unit price offset by a phony shipping price. Most transactions at either place will go without a hitch. It's when there's a problem that the difference becomes apparent.

I've had no major problem with GMPD either. National back-order on springs I wanted. But they finally got them to me..

Still I would prefer knowing I could talk to a humanoid if needed..
