Hallelujah!!! No More Payments!!!

As of February the 16th I no longer have to make payments on my baby. She is finally paid off and all mine - seems like it has taken forever, but thankfully I have made it. All I need now is to receive that little slip in the mail from the bank to make everything final. How many other HHR owners have had the satisfying feeling of paying off their vehicle?

I have only had this sensation Five times in my car buying life.
First, was in 1986 when I bought my first car, a Big Red 1977 Mercury Marquis.
Second, was when I bought my first NEW car, a 1989 Ford Escort LX.
Third, was when I bought a used 1990 Mercury Cougar (that was a fun car).
Fourth, was my Off Road Toy, a 1985 Toyota 4-Runner.
Fifth and Last, is my 2007 HHR.

As soon as I get the tax returns, I'll be paying mine off (should be next week!) a full year early.

Congrats on escaping the evil clutches of the bank!!!

Paid cash for all of ours, so the "Yay! Its all mine" feeling came instantly.

Congrats! I have a while on mine, last payment in dec 2012. The question is, what are going to do after the payments are over? Put that money into savings, mortgage, kids college? Or perhaps a slightly used Camaro...

Interesting comment about quitting fords since Ive actually been looking at mustangs for my next car. I previously owned a 1987 tempo and then a 1985 escort. But Im sure things have improved since then.... I hope. LOL
