Something is broken under my car. A friend says it looks like a heat shield. Driving wise it’s fine. But every time I go over a speed bump or any kind of raised road surface something scrapes.
I can't tell what part of 'under the car' that is, the camera is too close. Jack that part of the car up as high as you can, and take a better picture, with the phone touching the ground.
That being said, it does seem like a heat shield, but which one? If you're planning to DIY, then this thread can continue. If you're not mechanical, then take it to a shop. They'll order the correct parts and repair it.
If only there was a place you could drive to have your car lifted up for inspection and repair. I am assuming that you would not know which end of a screwdriver to use as a hammer.
Whatever it is it has to be removed or fixed before it falls completely off and hits some innocent bystander. Kind of irresponsible driving around with parts falling off. "Just a heatshield" can kill a person at 65 MPH.
